The world Famous John Jaques II won a Gold Medal for introducing croquet and Jaques croquet sets into England at the Great Exhibition in 1851. The croquet sets he exhibited there attracted such wide attention that the wonderful new game of croquet, and Jaques' wonderful croquet sets, quickly became the vogue not only in Britain but across Europe and throughout the British Empire. Jaques croquet sets, became especially popular in India, reportedly played by The Viceroy himself using an ivory mallet, made by Jaques.

The mallets used in this set are hand made and hand varnished Jaques corrigrip Croquet mallets. The Finest English ash is used in the construction of these beautiful mallets. The grips are the now famous corrigrip style first introduced by Jaques over 150 Years ago.
The hoops included with this set are the superb challenge hoops, which, although are the entry level full size hoops, are of superb quality. The hoops use Jaques unique triple baked, powder coated paint finish for ulitimate durability.
